A passionate client with an industrial heritage and a love of machines and fire, fundamentally drove our design. The space was entirely centered around the theatre of smoking and bbq’ing meat with all the smoke and flames that come with this style of cooking. We decided to create the smokiest, darkest, most atmospheric and dramatic site we could. Black on black on black, we wanted to create the feeling of almost being inside a furnace pulling references from old smithies and industrial machine design, we smoked out the walls and windows and used theatre lighting to create dramatic light shafts.
