Rail House Cafe, London

Completed 2017

Rail House Cafe is our 2nd restaurant design for Adam White of Village London. We were challenged to create an intimate restaurant and bar with a neighbourhood feel within the brand new steel and glass development, Nova Victoria. We designed a skeleton building of aged steel, arched screens and decorative, slender columns within the glass envelope, reminiscent of a Victorian tramshed or glasshouse that may have stood on the site historically. We mixed utilitarian, tramshed finishes with victorian glamour. The restaurant is centred around a huge centreal bar and kitchen. The ornate Oak and Steel staircase leads you to the Puffing Devil bar on the first floor. This upper bar is completely enclosed with Oak panelling inspired by train carriages and floor to ceiling steel opening windows.
