Having completed Ozone’s first London Roasterie in Old Street we were asked to go back to New Zealand to design their next big roastery in Auckland. The huge warehouse site was perfectly suited to a cleaner, crisper and more refined industrial aesthetic. We distilled the utilitarian palette down to Birch Ply, Concrete and Steel. When combined together these materials created a mood that was warm but still gave the customer a very real sense that they were in the factory. The space was huge so the gestures were huge. We made enormous bespoke trough lights, had towering walls of ply and monolithic panels of stone and concrete.
